Women Writing Women  Guidelines

• Write letters that are welcoming, personal and caring, as one would write to a friend.
• Avoid all political comments and proselytizing.
• Avoid judgment and criticism about the other woman’s opinions or lifestyle. Letters will be skimmed for appropriateness but not edited in any way.
• A few women have received a reply.  If you should get an answer, please let us know, and make every effort to reply to the letter within two weeks.
• Do not send money.
• If a correspondence begins, please plan on a minimum of a 2-year commitment.  We hope many women will write to each other indefinitely.
• If a correspondence does begin, you may at some point feel it’s appropriate to send a photo.  Please send only pictures in which you are dressed moderately – as you might dress for a job interview.  Avoid sending pictures that show alcoholic drinks.
